I am slightly obsessed with the new Bon Iver album after waiting so long, patiently, for their new material and it is so good, beyond my wildest expectations (and I had very very high expectations)... I can easily place it in my top 5 albums of all time ~ the place the music takes you is indescribable much like the lyrics or should I say poetry... mysterious play of words that takes on a form of it's own and paints a vivid feeling of loneliness, melancholy and yet some kind of deep awakening... lovely line in Holocene that reminds me that sometimes it takes a fall, the kind that wipes all delusion of self-grandeur and ego to see the vastness of everything and everyone all around you... maybe that's not what Justin Vernon meant, I don't know but that's what I get out of it and that's the beauty of this album - to make of it what you want & it's all good...
…and at once I knew I was not magnificent
high above the highway aisle
(jagged vacance, thick with ice)
I could see for miles, miles, miles
this album in it's entirety is truly a thing of beauty and it's indeed going to be bon été listening to bon iver all summer long...
